Where: De La Commune and Pl. Jacque Cartier
When: Sat., Aug. 4, 5 pm
What: Runnin around the old port like fur running from the fur-traders. Not the animals, just the fur.
This Saturday we will celebrate the lovely city of Montreal by playing in one of the oldest parts of the city. Coincidentally, this is also where the city was founded! And so we will enjoy all that is the original Montreal through the traditional running around and chasing each other, which dates back to the original landing of the French ships back in…umm… 16… umm… in… history. As legend has it, when they landed in the bitter January winter, they all ran around for hours trying to figure out who had directed them to what was clearly a Godforsaken climate.
So come and play to remember the hardships our founders went through, and then, we shall rejoice.
Happy huntin’

Hellllllooooooo hunters!
So, first of all, sorry for the delay in letting y’all know what’s going on this weekend – we’ve been a little busy with various non-manhunting related affairs…
That said, here’s the plan:
Where: Chinatown (St. Laurent and Rene Levesque)
When: Saturday, July 21 at 17h.
I’m sure you are all fans of ridiculously stereotypical kung fu movies – sometimes starring not only people of Asiatic decent, but also a token non-Asian who begins by being all kindsa intolerant but eventually “will learn that not all martial arts were developed on Mars” or some other shit that movie guy always says in the trailers. Or not.
Anyway, the Chinatown hunt will be nothing like those movies. Well, except for the awesome drop kicks… or at least the impressive wall runs… ok maybe just the whole running around thing.
The point is that we’ll be hunting each other down like Jackie Chan hunts down a good pork bun – So be there or be…. Absent.
See y’all on Sat
-Mella… or Ellike… or just Mike and Ella.

Hey hunters, how y’all doin’?
As some of you know, we were contacted by someone recently who has decided to start up a little manhunt game at night this week. The game will be played in Mount Royal park on Friday the 13th (mwahahaha!!!) at 8pm – everyone will be meeting up in the lower parking lot of Beaver Lake (see the map below).
The rules of this game will be a little bit different:
Everyone who shows up will be divided into 2 teams; the hiders and the seekers. There will be no markings separating the hiders from the seekers so be prepared for soem awesome confusion! Trust no one!
Hiders will be given to the count of 100 to scatter and hide.
If caught by a seeker the hider is taken to a designated “jail area” from which they may only be freed should a fellow hider come and tag them. Then they must run for their lives and hide again.
The hiders and seekers will switch once all hiders are captured.
THE RULES!
1. no peaking when you are counting!
2. run fast!
3. trust no one!
4. if you are caught outside the limits you are caught… and a big fat loser! If you are outside the limits butno one sees you, you’re just a big fat loser so don’t do it!
5. No vandalism or damaging of property or people is allowed! Lets be serious, its just not cool.
6. HAVE FUN!
Depending on how the game goes we may start up a regular night game on alternate weeks from our day game, so come let us know!
I hope to see y’all there!

Helllloooooooooo hunters!
This is it guys. This is the big one. This will be the hunt to end all hunts. Well not literally, cuz we’ll have more, so the hunts won’t end. But this will be a big one.
We’ll be returning to home base this Saturday, July 7th, at 5:00 pm – and by “home base” I mean Carré St Louis near the ice cream vendor at the west side of the park.
We will then hide, seek, and be merry for two half-hour periods, after which we will celebrate our glory with… celebrations…
Yeah I’m actually a little sick right now, so I’m not doing to well with this write up.
But – the point is that this weekend’s gonna be a big one – I’m hoping for a turnout of at least 40 happy hunters, so tell you friends, your loved ones, your friends’ loved ones, and even their dogs. Hey you can even invite people who you don’t like and get the chance to chase them down like never before. But don’t beat them. We don’t condone beatings. At least not while you’re wearing the armband…. So just take it off first.
Oh. But no dogs allowed.
On a different note, I have a little announcement as well:
Amy, one of our Grand Mansters, would like to extend a “hello” to everyone, as well as a little explanation for her sudden disappearance. Amy, unlike the rest of us who have nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon, has moved onward an upward to becoming an employee of the Montreal Gazette over most weekends. Fear not though, fellow hunters. Amy may seem to everyone else to be a mild-mannered reporter, but we all know she is actually Manhuntman!!!…. or…. Manhuntwoman!!!…. or maybe Manhuntperson!!!!!… or something.
Hopefully we will be seeing Amy every now and then when she has the chance to duck out to go “Write a story”…..
And now… I’m gonna go get soup
See y’all on Saturday

Bonjour hunters,
In 1834, Ludger Duvernay, a founder of the Lower Canada newspaper La Minerve, was inspired by a St. Patrick’s day celebration to create a day for his home country. He gathered his friends and fellow patriots, and “On this June 24, George-Étienne Cartier’s ‘Ô Canada! mon pays, mes amours’ was first sung during a grand patriotic banquet gathering about sixty francophones and anglophones of Montreal in the gardens of lawyer John McDonnell, near the old Windsor Station. The ‘Canada’ in the song refers to Lower Canada, today’s southern Quebec.” At least according to wikipedia.org.
Ludger Duvernay had passion. Ludger Duvernay had charisma. And Ludger Duvernay had a vision. A vision that consisted of a large group of people gathering together to celebrate the incredible entity that Lower Canada, now Québec, had become. These people would band together, and band their arms in orange. One of these people would be deemed the chasseur, and would count two minutes while all the other people spread throughout a predetermined area of the city. When the chasseur finished counting he would seek the other people, tagging them and turning them magically into other chasseurs until all the people had become chasseurs. Or until thirty minutes had passed – whichever came first really. But they couldn’t really know if anyone was left who was not a chasseur until the thirty minutes were up, so they tended to just go with the latter.
This year, we celebrate Ludger Duvernay’s vision by continuing in the tradition of the chassehumaine, as he may or may not have called it. We gather all together at the corner of St. Laurent and St. Viateur on Saturday, June 23, at 5pm. We unite in orange armband tying, and we hunt each other down like dogs. I mean like dogs that hunt, not like dogs that get hunted. I don’t condone hunting dogs. Again, I mean “hunting dogs” as in the verb phrase not the noun phrase. I’m not sure I condone hunting dogs either – the noun that is – but that’s not really the discussion here, is it? We’re talking about the transitive verb hunting and the accusative dogs.
Thankfully, in today’s technological age, we also have maps to show use where to meet and the predetermined area in which we shall hunt. I mean they had maps then too, but they weren’t very good because everything was warped a little bit, and also because they didn’t have high-speed Internet access so it took like three hours to download them.
À Samedi, et bonne chasse!

Hellloooooooooooooo Manhunters!
Manhunt in a park is back, kids.
Saturday, May 26
***7pm***
Parc Lafontaine
Meeting spot: At the bridge in the middle of the park.
Playing in a park is completely unlike the urban version and tests your Manhunting abilities in whole new ways. Tree climbing! Sprinting around the lake! Running frantically because there’s nowhere to hide! Be sure to check it out for yourself.
In sad news, Manhunter Man himself, LePhil is leaving us for the wilds of New York City. We’re sad to see you go, kiddo, but we wish you all the best. We’ll continue to hunt you in our hearts.
In happy news, it’s great to see so many hunters old and new coming out to the games. Manhunt survives due to your continued enthusiasm, so please tell your friends, and if you love Manhunt, be sure to keep on coming out to play!
Hugs and kisses,
Amy & LePhil

To all those joining us from the Mirror article, welcome, and prepare to experience the thrill of hightailing it through Montreal’s back alleys while being hunted from all sides by orange armband wearing lunatics.
As well as this website, you can find us on facebook, myspace, or by joining our mailing list. Check out the contact page for exactly the same information.
This week’s hunt, to be held on Saturday May 12th at 5pm, will be in the old port, meeting at the centaur theater.
I’m not feeling too clever right now, so this particular entry is ridiculously short. I would like to apologize about the lateness of our posts in these last few games, but we’re about to get back on track.
Hope to see you all there.
